Shaik Khader Rahman, IRS, Assumes Charge as Chief Commissioner of Central Tax, Central Excise & Customs, Thiruvananthapuram Zone

Shaik Khader Rahman, IRS, has officially taken charge as the Chief Commissioner of Central Tax, Central Excise & Customs, Thiruvananthapuram Zone. A seasoned officer from the 1992 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), he will oversee Indirect Taxes administration across Kerala and Lakshadweep.

With a distinguished career in tax administration and customs enforcement, Shri Shaik Khader Rahman brings vast expertise and leadership to the Thiruvananthapuram Zone. His extensive experience in revenue collection, policy implementation, and regulatory oversight is expected to enhance the efficiency of tax governance and trade facilitation in the region.

As the new Chief Commissioner, he is set to drive taxpayer-friendly initiatives, strengthen enforcement measures, and streamline compliance processes for businesses and individuals. His appointment aligns with the government’s commitment to improving ease of doing business while ensuring effective tax administration.

About Shaik Khader Rahman

Shaik Khader Rahman is Additional Director General, Directorate General Of GST. He is a 1992 Batch IRS officer and holds B.E. (Hons.) from BITS, Pilani. He has been assisting the GST Policy Wing of CBIC in all GST policy, law, procedure, Circulars, agenda for GSTC etc. He has been involved in the research and analysis work, acts as a Think Tank and an intermediary between the CBEC and field formations and coordinates with various Directorates of CBEC, Central Government Ministries/ Departments and State/UT Government Ministries/Departments connected to GST and Information Technology. He has been instrumental in the design and implementation of IT systems ACES, ICES , GST Applications.
