Charan Preet Singh Bakshi Granted Proforma Promotion as Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes

The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Office Order No. 112/2025, granting proforma promotion toCharan Preet Singh Bakshi under the Next Below Rule (NBR).

As per the order, Bakshi (Emp. ID: 760), belonging to the 1992 batch and born on August 9, 1966, has been promoted to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes (HAG+) in Level 16 of the Pay Matrix. The promotion is effective from June 2, 2025 — the date on which his immediate junior assumed charge of the same post on a regular basis.

This promotion is a procedural elevation under the NBR, allowing officers to receive notional promotion benefits when their juniors are appointed to a higher post before them due to administrative reasons.
