CBDT Orders Transfer of 3 Chief Commissioners / DGIT-Level Officers; Additional Charge Assigned

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued an Office Order announcing the transfer and posting of three senior officers in the rank of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT) / Director General of Income Tax (DGIT) with immediate effect.

As per the order, Arun C. Bharat has been transferred from CCIT, Coimbatore to DGIT (Investigation), Chennai. Yogesh Kumar Verma, who was serving as DGIT (Investigation), Patna, has been posted as DGIT (Investigation), Kolkata. Meanwhile, Anurag Srivastava has been moved from CCIT (OSD), Mumbai to DGIT (Investigation), Kochi.

The CBDT has also announced additional charge arrangements. Yogesh Kumar Verma will hold the additional charge of DGIT (Investigation), Patna, while Siripurapu Padmaja will hold the additional charge of CCIT, Coimbatore until further orders.

The order further clarifies that officers assigned additional charge will not be eligible for any additional remuneration under FR 49. The Board has directed that compliance reports regarding relieving and joining of the officers must be submitted to the Board and Data Base Cell of CBDT by 12:00 noon on March 16, 2026, through the official IRS officers’ portal.

However, it is worthwhile to note that no officer order has yet been issued for the promoted CCITs, working in-situ basis.
