Singapore Govt. to Disburse Up to $700 in July 2025 as Part of Enhanced GST Voucher Scheme
Targeted cash payouts to support lower- and middle-income citizens amid rising cost of living

In a major effort to cushion the impact of inflation and the upcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST) hike, the Singapore government has announced a fresh round of cash assistance under the enhanced GST Voucher scheme. Beginning July 1, 2025, eligible Singaporeans will receive direct cash payouts of up to $700, credited straight to their bank accounts.
This payout is a key component of the government’s broader $3 billion Assurance Package, unveiled in Budget 2025, designed to provide continued financial relief to households grappling with global economic uncertainties.
Who Qualifies for the July 2025 Payout?
The cash benefit is intended primarily for lower- and middle-income Singaporeans. According to the Ministry of Finance, individuals must meet the following criteria to qualify:
Be aged 21 or above in 2025
Have an annual assessable income (AI) of up to $34,000
Own one or no properties
Anyone exceeding the income threshold or owning more than one property will not be eligible for the payout.
Payout Breakdown
Annual Assessable Income (AI) | Number of Properties Owned | GST Voucher (Cash) Amount |
Up to $34,000 | 1 or none | $700 |
Above $34,000 or more than 1 | Any | Not Eligible |
Seamless Disbursement via PayNow
Eligible recipients who have linked their NRIC to PayNow will automatically receive the payment from July 1, 2025. Others will get the funds via bank transfers to their registered accounts or through GovCash collection points.
Citizens can verify their eligibility or update payment details by logging into the official GST Voucher portal using Singpass credentials.
Additional Support Measures
Beyond the cash payout, the enhanced GST Voucher scheme also includes:
U-Save rebates to offset utility bills
MediSave top-ups for seniors and low-income households
CDC vouchers to help with daily living expenses
These measures collectively aim to mitigate the effects of inflation and rising consumption costs, especially among vulnerable population groups.
Government’s Commitment
The Ministry emphasized that these initiatives demonstrate the government’s strong commitment to maintaining household resilience and purchasing power during turbulent economic periods. The GST Voucher payout, part of a multi-pronged strategy, reflects a proactive approach to protect Singaporeans from financial shocks.
