Senior IRS Officer Kapil Raj Resigns from Indian Revenue Service

Shri Kapil Raj, a senior officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), has formally resigned from government service. His resignation has been accepted by the President of India with effect from July 17, 2025.

At the time of his resignation, Shri Kapil Raj was serving as the Additional Director at the Delhi Zonal Unit of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI). His official designation in the service was Additional Commissioner of Customs & Indirect Taxes.

According to a government communication, the President accepted his resignation under standard procedural norms. The officer’s service details mention his Employee ID as 3914, and his date of birth as February 18, 1980.

No specific reason for the resignation has been cited in the notification.
