Customs officers at Indira Gandhi International Airport have seized a diamond-studded gold bracelet provisionally valued at nearly ₹1.08 crore from two Turkish nationals arriving from Istanbul.

The interception was carried out on August 19, 2026, by officers of the Airport Customs Preventive unit at Terminal 3. The two passengers had arrived in Delhi from Istanbul aboard IndiGo flight 6E-12.
Acting on suspicion, Customs officers conducted a detailed examination of the passengers’ baggage and subsequently carried out their personal search. The search led to the recovery of a gold bracelet studded with diamonds.
According to the preliminary assessment, the bracelet was made of gold of 750 purity and had a total weight of 87.5 grams. It reportedly contained approximately 50 carats, or nearly 10 grams, of diamonds.
