Customs TVM Zone Foils 4 Gold Smuggling Attempts; Seizes Gold Worth Rs. 2.72 Crore

In a major crackdown on smuggling, the Customs Thiruvananthapuram Zone successfully intercepted four separate gold smuggling attempts this week, seizing 3.126 kg of gold valued at approximately Rs. 2.72 crore.

In addition to the gold, customs officials also seized Cigarettes worth ₹3.37 lakh, Electronic items worth ₹74 lakh, and Saffron worth ₹10.5 lakh

The seizures were made in five different incidents, highlighting the increasing vigilance of customs authorities in curbing illegal trade activities.

Authorities continue to strengthen surveillance and enforcement efforts to prevent such illicit activities. Further investigations are underway to identify the key players behind these smuggling attempts.
