Dramatic Chase Unfolds

The incident began around 1 AM when CGST officials, acting on a tip-off, stopped a truck carrying paan masala and zarda from a warehouse in Manesar, heading towards Kota, Rajasthan. In a desperate attempt to escape, the truck driver tried to crush the CGST vehicle and flee towards the manufacturer’s premises.

Risking their lives, the officials chased down the canter and managed to intercept it, exposing a large-scale tax evasion racket.

Raids at Two Factories in IMT Manesar

Following the truck’s interception, the investigation led officials to two factories operating under the names SS Trader and Trimurti Test in IMT Manesar. Raids were immediately conducted at both locations, where significant quantities of unaccounted goods were discovered and seized.

The CGST team confiscated the entire truckload of paan masala and zarda, while the vehicle itself was taken to the CGST office for further inspection.

₹3 Crore Fine Estimated, Probe Underway

Preliminary investigations estimate the evaded taxes and fines to exceed ₹3 crore. The CGST team continues to scrutinize documents and stock records to identify further discrepancies and trace other links in the supply chain.

This raid highlights the ongoing efforts by the CGST department to curb tax evasion and illegal trade activities in the region.
