As part of the ongoing 14-week induction training program for newly appointed officers under the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), a special session on the topic “Prosecution and Compounding of Offences by Companies under GST” was scheduled on July 29, 2025, at the NIITTR Auditorium Complex, Sector 26, Chandigarh.

The induction training, which began on June 16, 2025, is being conducted by NACIN’s Zonal Campus in Chandigarh. The program is aimed at familiarizing the newly recruited officers with key operational, legal, and procedural aspects of Customs, GST, and allied indirect tax laws.

According to the communication issued to Mr. Lakshay Kumar (a participant in the training), the session will consist of two time slots:

  • Session III: 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM
  • Session IV: 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM

The topic has been specially curated to provide in-depth insights into the prosecution mechanisms and compounding provisions applicable to companies under the GST regime — a crucial area of concern given the growing emphasis on compliance and enforcement by tax authorities.

The letter, signed digitally by Mr. Bhupesh Satija on behalf of the Director General, underscores the importance of this lecture in the overall training program. It also requests confirmation from the recipient if, for any reason, attendance may not be possible due to administrative constraints. NACIN has urged officers to provide timely updates to facilitate effective coordination.

The training sessions are being held offline at the NIITTR campus, and participants are expected to bring their laptops and headphones for ease of access to certain digital content components.

With a focus on real-world applicability, this session will likely equip officers with vital legal acumen and practical know-how to handle corporate defaults and ensure accountability in GST matters.
