CBI Arrests GST Superintendent in Telangana For Accepting Rs. 8K Bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the Superintendent of GST, Medak, Hyderabad, Telangana for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant.

A case was registered  by CBI  on 21-03-2025 against said accused on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant for revoking the suspension of  GSTIN of complainant’s Proprietorship firm, which was suspended due to the non-filing of returns. 

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused Superintendent of GST red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.8,000/- from the complainant on 21-03-2025 at the O/o Superintendent, GST, Medchal Commissionerate, Medak, Telangana. Subsequently, the accused was arrested and  produced before the Competent Court on 22-03-2025.

Searches were conducted by CBI at residential and official premises of the accused at Medak & Hyderabad and native place Jehanabad (Bihar) which led to recovery of some incriminating documents.

 Investigation is continuing.
