GST Conclave 2025 Kicks Off GST Pakhwada with Grand Success in Kochi

The GST Conclave 2025 was successfully organized under the Leadership of , S.K. Rahman, IRS – Chief Commissioner at Taj Vivanta, Marine Drive, Kochi, marking the ceremonial commencement of GST Pakhwada, a fortnight-long celebration of the 8th anniversary of India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. The Pakhwada, observed from 16th June to 1st July, aims to promote awareness, transparency, and stakeholder engagement in the indirect tax system.

The Conclave featured a distinguished line-up of speakers and guests, with Shri R. Venkataramani, Hon’ble Attorney General of India, delivering the Keynote Address as the Chief Guest. His address highlighted the transformative impact of GST on India’s fiscal federalism and economic integration, and underscored the importance of continued reform and simplification.

Shri Rajendra Kumar P., Chairman of the Indirect Taxes Committee, ICAI, graced the event as the Guest of Honour, emphasizing the role of professionals in supporting GST compliance and capacity-building among taxpayers.

A special session titled “GST – Simplifying Taxes: Empowering Citizens” was led by Shri Shailendra Kumar, CEO & Founder Editor of TaxIndiaOnline (TIOL). His presentation explored how GST has evolved into a citizen-centric tax regime and stressed the need for proactive engagement between tax authorities and taxpayers.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 200 stakeholders, including taxpayers, legal experts, trade and industry representatives, professional bodies, and senior departmental officers. Attendees appreciated the insightful discussions and interactive sessions that addressed practical challenges and compliance opportunities under GST.

The GST Conclave 2025 received widespread media coverage, spanning print, radio, and social media, and was lauded for its inclusive approach and engaging format. It successfully set a vibrant and informed tone for the GST Pakhwada, which will continue over the next two weeks with outreach activities, helpdesks, taxpayer services, and awareness programs organized by CGST Commissionerates across the country.

The conclave marked not just a celebration, but a reaffirmation of India’s commitment to a transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-focused tax administration.
