CBDT Notifies Maharashtra WCD Secretary For Income Tax Data Sharing To Identify Beneficiaries Under Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the Maharashtra Govt., Women and Child Development For Income Tax Data Sharing To Identify Beneficiaries Under Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana.

“In pursuance of sub-clause (ii) of clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 138 of the New Delhi, the 3rd June, 2025 Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Government hereby specifies ‘Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, Women and Child Development’ for the purposes of the said clause in connection with sharing of information regarding Income-tax payers’ for identifying eligible beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana,” the notification read.

Section 138(1)(a)(ii) of the Income- tax Act, 1961 states that the Income Tax Board or any authorized authority can share tax-related information with government officials or bodies if the Central Government deems it necessary in the public interest. This data sharing helps the specified officials perform their duties under other laws.
