The Government of India has officially empaneled and promoted two senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers namely Chandra Prakash Goyal And Prachi Saroop to the post of Principal Chief Commissioner / Principal Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).
The announcement was made via Office Order No. 56/2025 issued by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, on March 25, 2025.

Promotion Details:
The officers have been promoted in Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Apex Scale) against the 2025 panel year, effective from the date of assumption of charge, but not before April 1, 2025.
Posting and Compliance:
The Competent Authority will finalize the regular postings of the officers in due course. Until then, both officials will assume their promotional posts on an in situ basis (as is where is). A compliance report regarding their joining must be submitted to the Board with a copy sent to Pr. ADG (HRM-II), DGHRD.
