The Government of India has designated Shri Ajay Seth, IAS (KN:87), as the new Finance Secretary. The decision was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), as per an official communication issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.

Shri Ajay Seth currently serves as the Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) under the Ministry of Finance. His elevation to the position of Finance Secretary comes in recognition of his vast experience and contributions in the economic and financial sectors.

A 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, Shri Seth has held several key positions in the central and state governments. Prior to his current role, he played a crucial role in shaping India’s economic policies, fiscal management strategies, and financial regulatory frameworks.
