The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme for exporters operating under Advance Authorizations (AAs), Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and Export-Oriented Units (EOUs) until February 5, 2025.

The RoDTEP scheme benefits for products manufactured by AAs, SEZs, and EOUs will now remain available until February 5, 2025.

No RoDTEP support will be available for these categories beyond February 6, 2025.

The scheme will continue as per existing provisions for exports under the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).

The extension provides temporary relief to exporters relying on RoDTEP incentives to remain competitive in the global market. However, the government has made it clear that from February 6, 2025, these units will no longer be eligible for RoDTEP benefits. This decision aligns with Notification No. 32/2024-25, which initially set the expiration date for the scheme on September 30, 2024 but has now been partially superseded.

The RoDTEP scheme was introduced to ensure that exported goods are free from embedded taxes and duties that are not refunded under any other mechanism. By reimbursing such costs, the scheme aims to enhance India’s export competitiveness.
