The Delhi High Court has dispensed with the ‘Gown’ requirement for advocates.

In a significant relaxation of courtroom dress code norms, the Delhi High Court has officially dispensed with the mandatory wearing of the traditional ‘Gown’ by advocates practicing before the court. This change, effective from Monday, March 17, 2025, supersedes the earlier notice No. 2533/G-11/Genl.-II/DHC/2024 dated October 21, 2024.

The dispensation of gown by Delhi High Court is seasonal and a routine affair.
