The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the validity of the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS-2026) until September 15, 2026, providing another opportunity to eligible companies to complete their pending statutory filings.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has granted companies an additional 15 days to complete pending statutory filings under CCFS-2026 following representations from stakeholders. All other terms and conditions of the scheme will remain unchanged.
According to the ministry, the decision to extend the scheme was taken after it received representations from various stakeholders seeking additional time to complete the filing process.

“Now, in view of the representations received from various stakeholders, it has been decided to further extend the validity of the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS-2026) up to 15th September, 2026,” the circular stated.
The MCA has clarified that only the validity period of the scheme has been extended. All other terms and conditions prescribed under CCFS-2026 will continue to operate without any change.
Scheme originally introduced in February
The Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 was introduced through General Circular No. 01/2026 dated February 24, 2026. Its primary objective was to provide companies with an opportunity to complete their pending statutory filings and regularise outstanding corporate compliance requirements.
The scheme was initially scheduled to remain operational until July 15, 2026. However, as companies and professionals continued to face difficulties in completing pending filings, the ministry subsequently extended the deadline.
Through General Circular No. 03/2026 dated July 8, 2026, the validity of CCFS-2026 was extended from July 15 to August 31, 2026.
The latest circular represents the second extension granted by the MCA. Companies can now use the scheme until September 15, 2026, effectively receiving an additional 15-day compliance window beyond the earlier August 31 deadline.
Extension follows stakeholder representations
The MCA’s decision assumes significance for companies that have yet to complete filings covered by the scheme. Corporate stakeholders and professionals had sought more time to address pending compliances and complete the necessary submissions.
The extension is expected to benefit companies that had initiated the process but could not complete their filings before the previous deadline. It also gives professionals—including company secretaries, chartered accountants and cost accountants—additional time to finalise documents, obtain approvals and submit eligible forms.
However, the ministry has not altered the scope, eligibility requirements or other operational conditions of the scheme. Companies intending to use the extended period will, therefore, have to comply with the framework prescribed in the original circular and subsequent instructions.
Companies should not wait until the last date
With the revised deadline fixed for September 15, companies have only a limited additional window to take advantage of CCFS-2026.
Eligible entities should immediately review their compliance records and identify pending statutory filings covered by the scheme. They should also ensure that financial information, statutory registers, board or shareholder approvals, attachments and supporting documents are complete and consistent before attempting to submit the relevant forms.
Companies may also need to coordinate with directors, authorised signatories and certifying professionals to ensure that digital signatures and professional certifications are available in time.
Where a filing requires payment of a statutory fee or completion of another linked compliance, companies should account for the time required to complete those steps. Successful submission should be verified through the relevant acknowledgement, challan or service request number rather than assuming that uploading a form amounts to completion.
No change in other scheme conditions
One of the most important clarifications in General Circular No. 04/2026 is that all other terms and conditions of CCFS-2026 remain unchanged.
The extension should not be interpreted as an expansion of the scheme to filings or companies that were not previously eligible. It also does not modify any procedural requirement prescribed under the original framework.
Companies should carefully examine General Circular No. 01/2026, along with subsequent MCA instructions, to determine whether their pending forms are covered and what conditions must be satisfied.
The additional period is intended to facilitate completion of eligible pending statutory filings. It does not remove the continuing obligation of companies and their officers to comply with the Companies Act and applicable rules.
Fresh deadline is September 15
The latest circular creates the following timeline for CCFS-2026:
- February 24, 2026: Scheme introduced through General Circular No. 01/2026.
- July 15, 2026: Original closing date of the scheme.
- July 8, 2026: MCA issued General Circular No. 03/2026, extending the scheme until August 31.
- August 31, 2026: General Circular No. 04/2026 issued.
- September 15, 2026: Revised and presently notified last date for completing eligible filings under the scheme.
The circular has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Nupur Aishwarya, Deputy Director (Policy), Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The MCA has also directed its e-governance section and web contents officer to place the circular on the ministry’s website.
The extension provides immediate relief to companies with pending statutory filings, but the short duration of the additional window means stakeholders will have to act promptly. Companies seeking to use CCFS-2026 should complete document preparation and filing formalities well before September 15 to avoid last-minute technical or procedural difficulties.
