Bomb Threat at Rajasthan High Court Jodhpur; Premises Evacuated, Bomb Squad Deployed

A bomb threat triggered panic at the Rajasthan High Court on Thursday after security agencies received information about a possible explosive device within the court premises. Acting swiftly, authorities evacuated the entire High Court complex and deployed the bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dogs to conduct a thorough search.

According to official sources, the threat was received earlier in the day, following which court proceedings were immediately halted. Judges, lawyers, litigants, court staff, and visitors were asked to vacate the premises as a precautionary measure. Entry points were sealed, and security was significantly tightened across the High Court campus.

The bomb squad, accompanied by trained canine units, carried out an extensive anti-sabotage check of courtrooms, chambers, corridors, parking areas, and surrounding buildings. Police personnel and special security teams were stationed at strategic locations to prevent any untoward incident.

Senior police officials confirmed that the evacuation was carried out purely in the interest of public safety. “Standard operating procedures were followed. The premises were cleared and searched thoroughly to rule out any threat,” an official said.

As of the latest updates, no explosive material has been found, and investigations are underway to ascertain the source and credibility of the threat. Authorities are also examining whether the threat was a hoax, while cyber and intelligence units have been roped in to trace its origin.

Court functioning for the day was disrupted due to the security operation. Further decisions regarding resumption of work are expected after the completion of security clearance and assessment by concerned agencies.

The incident has raised concerns over judicial security, prompting calls for heightened surveillance and stricter security protocols at court complexes across the state.
