Country is Burning with Judiciary”: Senior Advocate Warns Jharkhand HC Judge to Stay Within Limits, Video Goes Viral

A dramatic courtroom exchange at the Jharkhand High Court, Court No. 24 has gone viral across social media after a Senior Advocate confronted a sitting judge, cautioning him “not to humiliate advocates” and to “stay within his limits.” The incident, reportedly caught on camera, has ignited nationwide debate on the dignity of the judiciary and advocates’ right to be treated with respect in court.

According to initial reports, the altercation unfolded during a heated argument when the senior counsel objected to what he described as “demeaning behaviour” by the Bench. In the video, the lawyer can be heard saying, “The country is burning with judiciary. Please stay within your limits. You cannot humiliate advocates in open court.”

The statement instantly created a stir both inside and outside legal circles, with several lawyers and bar associations reacting sharply — some defending the advocate’s outburst as a stand against judicial arrogance, while others termed it contemptuous and unbecoming of a senior officer of the court.

While the High Court has not issued an official statement yet, sources suggest that the matter could be taken up by the Bar Council or the Chief Justice for review, given its serious implications on courtroom decorum and the advocate-judge relationship.

The clip, now widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter), has triggered thousands of comments, with users divided between those hailing the advocate’s courage to speak truth to power, and others warning that open defiance in court could erode institutional respect.
