Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a major milestone in India’s manufacturing sector, declaring that electric vehicles (EVs) made in India will now be exported to over 100 countries.

Taking to social media, the Prime Minister said, “A new chapter begins in the ‘Make in India’ journey as electric vehicles made here will now be exported to over 100 countries.”

The announcement marks a significant leap for India’s electric mobility mission and underscores the government’s push to position India as a global hub for EV production. The export initiative is expected to boost India’s presence in international markets while aligning with the country’s climate goals and sustainable development commitments.

The EV sector in India has been witnessing rapid growth, supported by government policies, incentives, and increasing investments from both domestic and international automakers. Industry experts believe that large-scale exports will further strengthen India’s global competitiveness, create employment opportunities, and attract foreign investment.

This step also reflects India’s progress in advancing green technology and reducing dependence on fossil fuels, in line with its commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement.

With the global demand for affordable and sustainable mobility solutions on the rise, India’s entry into large-scale EV exports could prove to be a game-changer for the automobile industry worldwide.
