Tariff Value of Gold, Silver, Oil and Areca Nuts Re-notified: CBIC Updates Import Rates Effective August 1, 2025

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has revised the tariff values of various imported goods namely Gold, Silver, Oil and Areca Nuts under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. The new tariff values come into effect from August 1, 2025.

Revised tariff values per metric tonne (in USD):

Gold Bars and Coins (purity ≥ 99.5%, excluding tola bars/jewellery)1063 per 10 grams

Clarification: Silver and gold coins, medallions, and findings are excluded from the general definition of silver and gold respectively.

Areca Nuts – Table-3

  • Tariff value remains unchanged at 6970 USD per metric tonne.
