The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of Judicial Officer Vimal Kumar Yadav as a Judge of the Delhi High Court. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Collegium held on July 28, 2025.

The Collegium, which is responsible for recommending appointments and transfers of judges in the higher judiciary, cleared Yadav’s name following due deliberation. His elevation adds to the bench strength of the Delhi High Court, one of the country’s busiest constitutional courts.

The appointment reflects the ongoing efforts of the judiciary to fill existing vacancies and enhance judicial efficiency in the national capital. The detailed notification and further formalities regarding the appointment are expected to follow shortly from the Ministry of Law and Justice.
