CLAT 2026 Exam Date Announced [READ PRESS RELEASE]

The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) has officially announced that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM.

The decision was taken during meetings of the Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium held on July 20, 2025. The CLAT is the centralised national-level entrance test for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs at participating National Law Universities across India.

The application portal for CLAT 2026 will go live on August 1, 2025, and will remain open until October 31, 2025. Candidates aspiring to pursue legal education at premier institutions are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the Consortium for further updates regarding the syllabus, application process, and counselling details, which are expected to be released soon.

CLAT continues to serve as a gateway to top-tier legal education and careers in law, and thousands of students appear for the exam each year.
