COVID Spike: Madras High Court To Function Through Virtual Mode
Owing to the surge in the omicron cases Madras High Court To Function Through Virtual Mode from 03.01.2022.
The Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court has issued the directions regarding functioning of the Principal Seat of Madras High Court, Madurai Bench of Madras High Court and all Subordinate Courts in the District Judiciary in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry with effect from 03.01.2022.
The order read that the Physical hearing and hybrid option before all Hon’ble Courts shall remain suspended. All hearings before all Hon’ble Courts shall be through virtual mode only. Filing of case papers, copy applications, returning / representing the case papers and receiving the order copies in emergent matters alone will be through e-mail and in exceptional cases, it shall be through the respective counters / drop boxes provided for the said purpose, subject to strict adherence to Covid-19 safety protocol.
