This innovative Multi Serh Tool allows users to verify multiple suppliers in bulk to determine their legitimacy, helping businesses steer clear of fraudulent dealers. Shah’s database currently includes 15,000 NGTPs from the Government of Maharashtra’s official SGST portal (Mahagst.gov.in). The tool, which is freely accessible on bmshah4u.com, ensures that taxpayers can protect themselves from penalties by avoiding transactions with fake invoice issuers.

How the Utility Works?

Businesses and tax professionals can check if any supplier is flagged as an NGTP by simply:

  1. Preparing an Excel list of suppliers with their GSTIN and Name.
  2. Visiting bmshah4u.com and selecting the “Check for NGTP (Bulk)” tool.
  3. Copy-pasting the GSTINs into the designated search box.
  4. Receiving instant results indicating whether the supplier is listed as an NGTP.

Currently, the tool displays results online, but future updates will allow users to export reports to Excel, providing better database management.

A Step Toward Transparency

Shah has shared this tool with the Honorable Finance Minister and GST authorities, urging them to test and implement it at a larger scale. He has also welcomed feedback and suggestions for further improvements. His goal is to expand the database by incorporating NGTP data from other Indian states, ensuring a nationwide impact.

“Our tool is developed in the public interest to protect genuine taxpayers and increase government revenue. If the government supports us, we will build a more advanced version,” said Shah.

Impact on Tax Compliance

This tool is particularly useful for SGST, CGST authorities, GST practitioners, and businesses to cross-check their suppliers and reverse Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims if necessary. By ensuring transactions only occur with genuine taxpayers, Shah’s initiative could play a key role in India’s ongoing fight against tax fraud and fake invoicing.
